Poetry reading by Marilyn & Patrick Klimcho
Marilyn LT Klimcho is the author of several short stories published in The Schuylkill Valley Journal and poems that have appeared in Birdsong, US20, The Ceremony of Great Age, and in publications put out by Studio B of Boyertown. She has also won prizes from the Pennsylvania Poetry Society and Berks Bards. She is currently the producer and host of Poets’ Pause, a half-hour interview program on Berks Community Television, and recently produced the initial episode of Poetry in Berks, which explores the meaning of selected poems written by local authors.
Patrick Klimcho is the author of several short stories and many poems. He has an aptitude for parody which he equates to the challenge of doing crossword puzzles. Besides humor, Patrick likes to write political rants and what he refers to as ‘sappy grandfather poems.’ He has published poems in the Schuylkill Valley Journal, Up & Under and The Riddle as well as in publications by Studio B of Boyertown. He has also written two novels.

The "Spotlight Kidz" is a Performance Company focusing on educational and performance opportunities in the Performing Arts. The Spotlight Kidz - the area's premier performance group - has had the opportunity to perform at many great venues including the Laurie Beechman Theater in New York City, The Triad in New York City, the Little League World Series, Philadelphia Phillies, Liacouris Center, Knoebels Grove and Hershey Park to name a few.
The group is under the direction of Sandy Kost-Sterner who works to provide opportunities to the Spotlight Kidz including performance opportunities, audition opportunities and learning opportunities such as private workshops with some of Broadway's top performers including Adam Jacobs, Ali Ewoldt, Charity Angel Dawson, Marissa Perry, Brandon Rubendall, Lilia Crawford, Mckayla Twiggs, Analise Scarpaci and Pottsville's own Bradley Dean.
The group- which ranges in ages 6-18- are like an All-Star group of the area's top performers. There are three different groups.
The groups for the 2018-19 season are:
- Children (Grades 1-4)
- Junior (Grades 5-7)
- Senior (Grades 8-12)
Members of the group have excelled in many events, being winners/finalists at the Winter Carnival Snowdrop and Snowflake pageants. Schuylkill County Fair royalty and being Majestic Awards winners as well as garnering many of the top roles in both high school shows and area theater shows. In addition, members have moved on to pursue theater in college with several achieving scholarships for the Performing Arts.
As you can tell, we are very proud of all of our members! Each one is unique and special in their own way! However, their common bond is that they all love theater, singing and performing!
Those wishing to become members of the "Spotlight Kidz" can email firstname.lastname@example.org. Members areaccepted through invitation or audition. Auditions are typically held in May for the new season which begins June 1st and runs until Ma 31st.
